Herbert And Sun

These are two entertainment animatronics i created in 2024. They were the first big engineering projects i did, so i learned a lot doing it and since then. I use these animatronics to make content for my youtube channel, along with other things i do and find. They are both powered with an arduino uno, and the program to animate them is bottango. I found it recently, as of a year ago i was using the Arduino IDE to code the animations. Much easier to use bottango.

Personal Opinion

These were fun to work on, and though i still have them and use them, they do not need many more upgrades. Around herbert and sun are my collection of animatronic things, (ShowBiz and Chuck E. Cheese)

Herbert

Herbert is a guitar playing blue cyclops alien with four movements:

• Neck left and right
• Mouth open and close
• Eye left and right
• Hand strumming.

Sun

Sun is simpler:

• Mouth open and close

I created her with an old base paper mache mold. (I think originally from Hobby Lobby) And painted and made her mechanical myself. As of early March, 2025, I added a pizza box that opens whenever sun talks.
